Oil-absorbing felt is suitable for absorbing non-water-soluble substances such as petroleum hydrocarbons and hydrocarbons; oil-absorbing mats are used for professional surface adsorption applications and can also be employed to remove oily liquids from surfaces on rainy days. The internal filling material is polypropylene, which provides both oil-absorbing and waterproof properties. When this product is used on the water surface, thanks to its non-water-absorbent nature, it will remain floating even after battery leakage, preventing it from sinking to the bottom (only the oil will sink). Product categories include absorbent cotton strips, absorbent cotton pads, and absorbent cotton pillows. The oil-absorbing series features white labeling, and packaging products such as leak-detection containers have clearly visible markings.

  2. Chemically adsorbed felt

        Oil-absorbing felt

The chemical oil-absorbing felt series is suitable for acidic, corrosive, and other chemical liquids. Chemical oil-absorbing cotton is ideal for handling leaks of acidic, corrosive, and other hazardous liquids. At the same time, absorbent cotton is also suitable for dealing with leaks of unknown liquids. We offer chemical oil-absorbing cotton strips, absorbent cotton pads, absorbent cotton pillows, absorbent sand, and leak-detection canisters.

  3. Protective Oil-absorbing felt

General-purpose oilcloth is suitable for use with unknown liquids such as oils, water, coolants, solvents, pigments, and dyes. Its internal filler is polypropylene, and its surface has undergone activation treatment, enabling it to absorb non-petroleum liquids (general-purpose). General-purpose degreasing cotton is specially designed for handling leaks of harmless liquids such as oils, water, coolants, and solvents.

Oil-absorbing felt is made from polypropylene—a chemically inert material—via a meltblown process. It effectively absorbs and retains liquids. The absorbent product is encased in nonwoven fabric made of polypropylene fibers or stitched with thread, and then treated with a surface-active agent. The outer layer fabric is tough and durable, featuring strong capillary absorption capabilities and enhanced adsorption power, which enables it to draw leaked liquids into the oil-absorbing cotton. This effectively prevents the spread of leaks. After being twisted and compressed, the product can be reused and recovers between 72% and 90% of the leaked liquid (depending on the manufacturing process and quality of the oil-absorbing cotton). The manufacturing process for PP oil-absorbing felt begins with obtaining meltblown polypropylene nonwoven fabric, followed by the production of various forms of oil-absorbing pads, oil-absorbing pillows, oil-absorbing strips, oil-absorbing cables, and oil-absorbing mats equipped with absorbent barriers.

The production process of polypropylene meltblown nonwoven fabric is as follows: polypropylene pellets are fed—melted and extruded—fibers are formed—fibers are cooled—fibers are laid down onto a spinneret plate to form a web—then reinforced to create a fabric.

  How to use oil-absorbing felt:

  1. When an oil spill occurs on the water surface, personnel should stand either on a boat or on shore and spread oil-absorbing mats across the water. In areas with heavier oil concentrations, more oil-absorbing mats can be applied. Additionally, to accelerate the oil absorption process, stirring can be performed; however, once the oil-absorbing mats become saturated, they must be stirred and promptly removed. When using oil-absorbing mats, special attention should be paid not to use other products such as degreasers.

  2. When Oil-absorbing felt When using larger quantities, you can scoop them up using a mesh bag; for the remaining portion, you can manually retrieve them by boat. When scooping, pay attention to the wind direction and water current.
