Oil-absorbing felt

Oil-absorbing felt is made from ultra-fine fiber nonwoven fabric with oil-affinity properties, enabling it to rapidly absorb oil contaminants weighing dozens of times its own weight. Moreover, it does not absorb water. This material features a low specific gravity, light weight, and ability to float on the water surface. After absorbing oil, it remains unchanged in shape, does not disintegrate, is unaffected by temperature changes, resists acids and alkalis, is non-corrosive, and is easy to store. It is widely used in industries such as mechanical manufacturing, aerospace, and petrochemicals for cleaning oil contamination—including removing floating oil from water surfaces, eliminating large amounts of oil contamination from batteries and ship hulls, recovering and treating oil spills on sea surfaces, and preventing the spread of oil leaks from oil trucks, oil tanks, fuel tanks, and oil drums.

Materials used include polyester fiber, viscose fiber, polypropylene, acrylic, spandex, and aramid.

Main features:

1. It has a low specific gravity and can float on the surface of water.

2. It has multiple oil-affinity gaps and exhibits strong oil-absorbing performance, but poor water-absorbing capacity. Moreover, during the oil-absorption process, the oil-absorbing felt can expel water.

3. Acid-resistant, alkali-resistant, chemically corrosion-resistant, and produces few harmful gases when burned.

4. Excellent oil retention performance and can be reused repeatedly.

5. Suitable for adsorbing lighter oils and most chemical liquid cargoes with lower specific gravity.

6. Suitable for adsorbing oil products with relatively high viscosity.
